CCS-1 Test - Cruise Control System Code Check
- Connect diagnostic read-out box to diagnostic connector in engine compartment. Place system in Diagnostic Test Mode. See ENTERING ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS under TESTING & DIAGNOSIS in this article. Record all codes. If codes 88-55 or 88-12-55 are displayed (no codes stored), go to next step. If codes 88-34-55 or 88-12-34-55 are displayed, proceed to CCS-2 TEST - CRUISE CONTROL SERVO CHECK (CODE 34) . If codes 88-15-55 or 88-12-15-55 are displayed, perform DR-3 TEST - SPEED SENSOR CIRCUIT (CODE 15) .
- Connect diagnostic read-out box to diagnostic connector in engine compartment. Place system in Sensor Test Mode "09". See ENTERING ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS under TESTING & DIAGNOSIS in this article. Ensure cruise control switch is in "OFF" position. While observing diagnostic read-out box display, move cruise control "ON/OFF" switch to "ON" position. Press "SET" button, and then "RESUME" button. Record display readings.
- If display reads "00" with "ON/OFF" switch in "ON" position, "10" when "SET" button is pressed, and "01" when "RESUME" button is pressed, cruise control switch is okay. Proceed to CCS-3 TEST - CRUISE CONTROL SERVO GROUND CIRCUIT CHECK . 4) If display reads "blank" with "ON/OFF" switch in "ON" position, "blank" when "SET" button is pressed, and "blank" when "RESUME" button is pressed, proceed to CCS-4 TEST - CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM POWER SUPPLY CHECK . If display reads "blank" with "ON/OFF" switch in "ON" position, "10" when "SET" button is pressed, and "10" when "RESUME" button is pressed, proceed to CCS-5 TEST - CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM SET FUNCTION CHECK . 5) If display reads "00" with "ON/OFF" switch in "ON" position, "00" when "SET" button is pressed, and "00" when "RESUME" button is pressed, proceed to CCS-6 TEST - CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM RESUME CIRCUIT CHECK .
