Fuel Pressure Regulator

The fuel pressure regulator is a mechanical device that maintains a constant pressure of 14.5 psi (1.02 kg/cm2 ) across the injector tip. When fuel pressure reaches the given amount, fuel is allowed to enter the return port and is returned to the fuel tank. The internal diaphragm and spring constantly move from an open to closed position in order keep fuel pressure constant.
