2.2L Electronic Fuel Control CEC: Operation: Self-Diagnostics

The EFC system computer is programmed with self-diagnostic capabilities. The SCC constantly monitors the various engine systems and components. If a problem is detected in any monitored system, a "Fault Code" will be stored as an aid to system diagnosis.

If a detected problem is repaired, or fails to repeat within 20-40 ignition on/off cycles, the computer cancels the code. Stored fault codes may be recalled as an aid to complete system diagnosis by using Diagnostic Read-out Box (C-4805 ).
