Charge Temperature Switch (Cts)

Charge Temperature Switch (CTS) is installed in intake manifold No. 6 branch runner on 6-cylinder engines and No. 8 runner on V8 engines.

When air/fuel mixture temperature is below 60°F (16°C), switch closes. This prevents EGR timer and EGR valve operation. When air/fuel temperature is above 60°F (16°C), switch opens. This again allows EGR timer and EGR valve to operate.
