Pressure Sensor
- Disconnect negative battery cable. On Charade, remove glove compartment assembly. On all models, install Sub-Harness (SST 09842-87704-000) between ECU and engine wiring. See Figure
.NOTE: Before installing sub-harness, ensure continuity exists on all sub-harness leads and no terminals are shorted together.
- Connect negative battery cable. Using a DVOM, check voltage between sub-harness terminals. See Fig 1 . Perform appropriate 1st check in PRESSURE SENSOR PIN CHECK . Voltage should be as specified in appropriate PRESSURE SENSOR SPECIFIED VALUE table. Pressure sensor is located near center of firewall. See Figure .
- Perform appropriate 2nd check in PRESSURE SENSOR PIN CHECK . Voltage should be 4.5-5.5 volts. If 2nd check is within specification but 1st check is not, replace pressure sensor.
- Disconnect pressure sensor vacuum line. Using vacuum pump, apply 7.9 in. Hg to pressure sensor. Perform appropriate 3rd check in PRESSURE SENSOR PIN CHECK .
- Voltage should be .55-.70 volt (1.0L) or .65-.95 volt (1.3L and 1.6L) less than voltage reading obtained in 1st check. If voltage is not as specified, replace pressure sensor.
