Auxiliary Air Valve

  1. Disconnect air cleaner hose from throttle body. Start engine. Note location of auxiliary air valve port inside throttle body. See Fig 1 .
  2. Place finger over auxiliary air valve port when coolant temperature is less than 104°F (40°C). Ensure engine speed drops. Repeat procedure with coolant temperature greater than 158°F (70°C). Engine speed should not change. Replace throttle body if auxiliary air valve fails to operate correctly.
