Front Strut Assembly: Disassembly
CAUTION:
Record position of front spring seat relative to strut assembly-to-knuckle bracket. Place front spring locator back in same position during assembly.
- Remove strut assembly. Fasten strut assembly to spring compressor (KM-329-A). Make sure hooks are seated on strut spring properly. Compress front spring with spring compressor (KM-329-A).
- Remove dust cover from bearing assembly. Use an open end wrench to hold threaded piston rod while removing piston rod nut with front strut mount nut wrench (DV-005).
- Remove upper strut mount, mount bearing, upper spring seat, upper spring insulator, hollow bumper, and piston rod boot. Release spring. Remove spring and lower spring insulator. See Fig 1 .
