Removal & Installation: Starter: Installation

Place starter assembly in position. Install upper and lower starter mounting bolts. See Figure . Tighten starter-to-engine block mounting bolt to 45 N.m (33 ft. lbs). Tighten starter-to-transmission mounting bolt to 50 N.m (37 ft. lbs.). Install engine intake manifold-to-engine block strap bracket over starter. See Figure . Tighten intake manifold-to-engine block bracket bolts (over starter) to 20 N.m (15 INCH lbs.).
Position starter electrical wire on solenoid terminal. Install starter solenoid terminal-to-ignition solenoid terminal nut. Tighten starter solenoid terminal-to-ignition solenoid terminal nut to 6 N.m (53 INCH lbs.). Install starter solenoid terminal-to-battery cable terminal nut. Tighten starter solenoid terminal-to-battery cable terminal nut to 7 N.m (62 INCH lbs.).
