Test Description
Number(s) below refer to step number(s) on Diagnostic Table.
- 1. The On-Board Diagnostic (OBD II) System Check prompts technician to complete some basic checks and to store freeze frame and failure records data on scan tool if applicable. This creates an electronic copy of data taken when malfunction occurred. The information is then stored on scan tool for later reference.
- 2. This step determines if DTC P0140 is result of a hard failure or an intermittent condition.
- 4. Disconnecting HO2S2 and jumpering sensor signal circuit and sensor low circuit to ground will determine if PCM/ECM or wiring or HO2S2 is malfunctioning.
- 6. Determines which circuit malfunction is in. If sensor signal circuit and sensor low circuit are okay, then PCM/ECM connection or PCM/ECM is malfunctioning.
- 10. The replacement PCM/ECM must be reprogrammed.
