Test Description
Number(s) below refer to step number(s) on Diagnostic Table.
- 1. The On-Board Diagnostic (OBD II) System Check prompts technician to complete some basic checks and store freeze frame and failure records data on scan tool if applicable. This creates an electronic copy of data taken when malfunction occurred. The information is then stored on scan tool for later reference.
- 2. During engine warm-up, O2S1 should warm up, and its voltage output should vary between 150 mv and 850 mv. When O2S1 voltage varies, engine will go into Closed Loop. This determines if O2S1 is operating properly.
- 4. This will determine if sensor is malfunctioning, wiring, or PCM/ECM is cause of DTC P0134.
- 6. Use only a high impedance Digital Voltmeter (DVM) for this test. The test checks continuity of O2S1 signal and ground circuits; if ground circuit is open, PCM/ECM voltage on circuit will be over .6 volt (600mv).
- 8. The replacement PCM/ECM must be reprogrammed.
