Coolant Temperature Sensor
REMOVAL
WARNING:
Hot, pressurized coolant can cause injury by scalding. Cooling system must be partially drained before removing the coolant temperature sensor.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION and/or BELLY PAN, FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING .
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- Disconnect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor wire harness connector.
1 - ECT Sensor Wire Harness Connector - Release the lock tab on the bottom of the ECT.
1 - Lock Tab - Rotate the ECT a 1/4 turn counter clockwise and remove the ECT sensor.

INSTALLATION
Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE - FILLING .
