Stabilizer Bar, Front: Installation: RWD

NOTE:

When attaching stabilizer link to stabilizer bar, verify that the link ball joint stem is pointed inboard toward engine cradle.

  1. On each side of vehicle, raise stabilizer bar (3) to stabilizer link (2) and slide the stabilizer link stud (1) through mounting hole in bar. Loosely install nut (4) at this time.

    CAUTION:

    Because of stabilizer isolator outer shape, it is very important to install isolators in position discussed in following step.

  2. Utilizing the split in the isolator, install each stabilizer bar isolator (1) on bar resting against locating collar (2).

  3. Verify that the split in the isolator is in the correct position toward the FRONT  of the vehicle (1). If the split in the isolator is positioned toward the REAR  of the vehicle (2) rotate the isolator to the correct position (1) toward the FRONT  of the vehicle.

  4. On each side of vehicle, install stabilizer bar isolator retainer halves (1, 2) around isolator (3).

  5. On each side of vehicle, install the stabilizer bar to crossmember bolts (1). Tighten bolts to the proper torque specification. Refer to FRONT, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

  6. On each side of vehicle, install the stabilizer bar heat shield (2). Install the stabilizer bar heat shield to crossmember bolts (1), and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to FRONT, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

  7. While holding the stabilizer link stud from rotating (1), tighten stabilizer link to stabilizer bar nut (4) to the proper torque specification. Refer to FRONT, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  8. Install belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, INSTALLATION .
  9. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
