Pedal, Accelerator: Removal
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Remove the steering column opening cover. Refer to COVER, STEERING COLUMN OPENING, REMOVAL
.
- If equipped with adjustable pedals, remove the adjuster cable (1) at accelerator pedal adjuster motor (2).CAUTION:
Do not attempt to separate or remove the Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APPS) from the accelerator pedal assembly. The APPS and the accelerator pedal is replaced as an assembly. If the sensor is removed from the pedal, the electronic calibration may be destroyed.
- Disconnect the electrical connector at the accelerator pedal adjuster motor (1).
- Disconnect both electrical connectors at the APPS (2).
- Remove the pedal assembly 3 retaining nuts (2, 3).
- Remove the pedal assembly (1).
