Removal And Installation: Removal

LEFT CAPACITOR

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the air cleaner body. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
3. Remove the air cleaner resonator. Refer to RESONATOR, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

4. Remove the three vacuum pump bracket bolts (1) and position the pump and bracket (2) aside.

5. Disconnect the capacitor wire harness connector (1).
   NOTE:

   The left capacitor mounting bolt also retains the injector harness ground wire to the cylinder head.

6. Remove the bolt (2) and ignition capacitor (3) from the cylinder head.

RIGHT CAPACITOR

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the air cleaner body. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
3. Remove the air cleaner resonator. Refer to RESONATOR, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

4. Disconnect the ignition capacitor wire harness connector (1).
5. Remove the bolt (2) and ignition capacitor from the cylinder head.
