Removal And Installation: Removal
WARNING:
Hot, pressurized coolant can cause injury by scalding. Cooling system must be partially drained before removing the coolant temperature sensor.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION , BELLY PAN, FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION and/or BELLY PAN, SIDE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- Disconnect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor wire harness connector (1).
- Release the lock tab on the bottom of the ECT.
- Rotate the ECT a 1/4 turn counter clockwise and remove the ECT sensor (1).
