Pump, Water: Installation: 5.7L/6.4L

  1. Clean and inspect the mating surfaces of the timing chain cover and the water pump.

  2. Install the water pump (3) and tighten the bolts (6) to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Install the upper stud bolt (2) and tighten the bolt to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Install the lower radiator hose to the water pump.
  5. Install the upper radiator hose to the thermostat housing (1).
  6. Install the belt tensioner assembly (4) and tighten the bolt to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  7. Install the idler pulley (5) and tighten the bolt to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

  8. Connect the temperature sensor wire hire harness connector (2).
  9. Using a NEW  O-ring seal, install the heater tube (3) and tighten the bolt (1) to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  10. Install the serpentine belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, INSTALLATION .
  11. Install the cooling fan assembly. Refer to FAN, COOLING, INSTALLATION .
  12. Install the air cleaner body. Refer to INSTALLATION .
  13. Connect the negative battery cable.
  14. Evacuate the air and refill cooling system. Refer to COOLANT SYSTEM AIR EVACUATION  .
  15. Check the cooling system for leaks. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM LEAKS  .
