Engine Cooling System: Engine: Thermostat: Installation: 3.6L

CAUTION:

The Thermostat and housing is serviced as an assembly. Do not remove the thermostat from the housing, damage to the thermostat may occur.

Clean mating areas of timing chain cover and thermostat housing (1).
Install a new gasket on to the thermostat housing.

Install the thermostat housing into the upper radiator inlet hose.
Position the thermostat housing (2) on the water crossover.
Install the two thermostat housing bolts (4). Tighten the bolts to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
Tighten the inlet hose clamp (3).
Fill cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
Install the air cleaner body tray. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION .
Connect the negative battery cable. Tighten the nut to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
Start and warm the engine. Check for leaks.
