Fan, Cooling: Removal: 2.4L

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.

  2. Remove the ten push fasteners (1) and the upper front fascia closeout (2).

  3. Remove the belly pan (3). Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL .
  4. Partially drain the cooling system to below the radiator inlet.

    NOTE:

    Left side shown in illustration, right side similar.

  5. Disconnect the cooling fan wire harness connector (4).
  6. Disconnect the wire harness loom tie from the fan shroud (3).
  7. Remove the two bolts (1) that secure the cooling fan assembly to the radiator.
  8. Remove the upper radiator hose at the radiator neck and position aside.
    NOTE:

    The hose can remain attached at the thermostat housing.

  9. Tilt the top of the cooling fan towards the engine, then raise the cooling fan up and out of the engine compartment.
