Sensor, Camshaft Position: Installation: 2.4L
CAUTION:
Install camshaft position (CMP) sensor utilizing twisting motion. Make sure CMP sensor is fully seated. Do not drive CMP sensor into the bore with mounting screw. This may cause CMP sensor to be incorrectly seated causing a faulty signal or no signal at all.
- Lubricate sensor O-ring.
- Install the exhaust cam sensor (3) and mounting bolt (2) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect electrical connector (1) to the camshaft position sensor.
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector to the negative battery cable.
NOTE:
The Cam/Crank Variation Relearn procedure must be performed using the scan tool anytime there has been a repair/replacement made to a powertrain system, for example: flywheel, valvetrain, camshaft and/or crankshaft sensors or components. .
