Module, Powertrain Control: Installation: 3.6L

CAUTION:

If a new powertrain control module is being installed, use a scan tool to reprogram the new module with the original vehicle identification number (VIN) and original mileage. If this step is not performed, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will set.

  1. If removed, install the PCM mount (3). Tighten the bolts (2) to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

  2. Position the PCM onto the mount.
  3. Install the ground wire. Tighten the nut (2) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Install the nuts (3) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Install the PCM electrical connectors.
  6. Connect the battery negative cable.
  7. Perform PCM programming. Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL, MODULE PROGRAMMING .
