Program The BCM (Body Control Module)
After installing a brand new BCM, the scan tool will be unable to identify the vehicle. Manual VIN entry into the scan tool must be used to continue scan tool communication.
Reference the module replacement guide for programming order when replacing the Body Control Module (BCM). Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Press the ignition (or turn the key). You should hear an audible chime.
- With the scan tool, perform the following procedure in the BCM Miscellaneous Functions: Restore BCM PROXI Configuration*.NOTE:
NOTE: The Restore BCM PROXI Configuration uses the VIN and sales code information from DealerCONNECT to reconfigure the vehicle. After running the Restore BCM PROXI Configuration, the scan tool will restart to begin a new diagnostic session with the vehicle.
- With the scan tool, perform the following procedure in the RFH Miscellaneous Functions: BCM Replaced*.
- If instructed by the scan tool, run the following procedure in the BCM Miscellaneous Functions: PROXI Configuration Alignment*.
- If equipped with Engine Stop Start (ESS) option, perform the "Configure IBS for Stop / Start" routine in the BCM Misc Functions menu.
* - Denotes that a user message indicating that the scan tool procedure is required may automatically display to the technician during the tool connection process
Customer programmable features in the BCM may need to be reset back to the customers preferred settings.
