Clean mating surfaces. Install a new water pump gasket (3).
Install the water pump (4) onto the rear water pump housing (2). Loosely install the bolts (6).
Tighten front (5) and rear (1) fasteners to 11 N.m (97 in. lbs.).
Tighten mounting bolts (6) to 24 N.m (18 ft. lbs.).

Install the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor (2). Tighten sensor to 11 N.m (97 in. lbs.).
Connect the ECT sensor (4) wire harness connector.
Install the thermostat housing assembly (1). Tighten bolts to 11 N.m (97 in. lbs.).

Install the lower radiator hose to the bypass housing (3).
Install the coolant recovery bottle purge hose to the purge tube (2).
Install the upper radiator hose to the thermostat housing (1).

Install the belt tensioner mounting bracket.
Install belt tensioner assembly (7). Refer to TENSIONER, BELT, INSTALLATION .

Install the EGR air control valve (2). Refer to VALVE, EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR), INSTALLATION .
Install the air intake assembly.
Connect the negative battery cable.
Evacuate air and refill cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
Check cooling system for leaks. Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING .
