Module, Fuel Pump: Installation: Installation
CAUTION:
Whenever the fuel pump module is serviced, the rubber O-ring seal must be replaced.
- Using a new O-ring seal (gasket), position fuel pump module (9) into opening in fuel tank.
- Position lockring (8) over top of fuel pump module.
- Install Lockring Remover/Installer Tool (special tool #9340, SAE Fuel Pump Lock Ring Wrench) to lockring.
- Install 1/2 inch drive breaker into Lockring Remover/Installer (special tool #9340, SAE Fuel Pump Lock Ring Wrench).
- Tighten lockring (clockwise) until all notches have engaged.
- Install fuel tank. Refer to TANK, FUEL, INSTALLATION or TANK, FUEL, INSTALLATION .
- Fill the tank with fuel.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
