Steering System: Pump: Installation: SRT
- Align pump (1) with mounting holes on engine.
- Install three pump mounting bolts (2) through access holes in pulley. Tighten bolts to 28 N.m (21 ft. lbs.).
NOTE:
Always use a NEW O-ring on the end of the pressure hose.
- Lubricate NEW O-ring on end of pressure hose with clean power steering fluid.
- Install pressure hose (2) to pump (3). Tighten pressure hose tube nut to 47 N.m (35 ft. lbs.).
- Install return hose (1) to power steering pump (3) and install clamp securing hose in place.
- Install serpentine drive belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, INSTALLATION .
- While sliding the air duct onto the throttle body, lower the air cleaner housing (5) into position and align the locating pin on the bottom of the housing.
- Install the air cleaner housing retaining bolt (4) and tighten to 5 N.m (44 in. lbs.).
- Install the makeup air hose (3) at the air cleaner housing.
- Connect the intake air temperature sensor electrical connector (2).
- Position the air duct retaining clamp (1) at the throttle body and tighten to 3 N.m (30 in. lbs.).
- Connect battery negative cable (2) to battery post. It is important that this is performed properly.
- Fill and bleed power steering system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
