SENSOR, Knock: Installation: 5.7L

CAUTION:

Over or under tightening the sensor mounting bolts will affect knock sensor performance, possibly causing improper spark control.

NOTE:

The foam strip used on bolt threads is used only to retain the bolts to sensors for plant assembly. It is not used as a sealant. Do not apply any adhesive, sealant or thread locking compound to these bolts.

  1. Position the knock sensor (1), install the retaining bolt (2) and tighten to 20 N.m (15 ft. lbs.).
  2. Connect the knock sensor electrical connector (5).

  3. Position the belly pan and install the retainers (1).
  4. Lower the vehicle.

  5. Connect the negative battery cable and tighten nut to 5 N.m (45 in. lbs.).
