Diagnostic Test
- CHECK THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL
- Check the transmission fluid level in accordance with the Service Information.
Was the transmission fluid level low or improperly filled?
Yes
- Properly adjust the fluid level in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the MPS6 VERIFICATION TEST. See DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Transmission Control (TCM) - Standard Procedure .
No
- Go to step 2
- Check the transmission fluid level in accordance with the Service Information.
- CHECK IF THE DTC IS CURRENT NOTE: The Transmission Control Module stores under Environmental Data the transmission operating conditions when the DTC was set. Before erasure of any DTC, record all information pertaining to the DTC, even if there is more than one DTC stored.
- With the scan tool, erase the Transmission DTCs.
- Using the Environmental Data previously recorded, drive the vehicle and try to duplicate the conditions in which the DTC originally set.
- With the scan tool, read the Transmission DTCs.
Did the DTC P175D reset?
Yes
- Go to step 3
No
- The conditions necessary to set this DTC are not present at this time. Check for any Service Information Tune-ups or Technical Service Bulletins that may apply. Repair as necessary.
- Perform the MPS6 VERIFICATION TEST. See DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Transmission Control (TCM) - Standard Procedure .
- CHECK THE CLUTCH SHIFT MULTIPLEX SOLENOID 2
- Turn the ignition off to the lock position.
- Remove the Transmission Control Module Assembly (TCMA)/valve body oil pan in accordance with the Service Information.
- Remove the TCMA/valve body in accordance with the Service Information.
- Remove the Clutch Shift Multiplex Solenoid 2 from the TCMA/valve body in accordance with the Service Information.
- Measure the resistance of the Clutch Shift Multiplex Solenoid 2.
Is the resistance between 2.88 and 3.52 Ohms?
Yes
- Using the schematics as a guide, check the Transmission Control Module (TCM) terminals and connectors for corrosion, damage, or terminal push out. Pay particular attention to all power and ground circuits. Check for any Service Information Tune-ups or Service Bulletins for possible causes that may apply. If no problems are found, replace and program the Transmission Control Module Assembly (TCMA) in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the MPS6 VERIFICATION TEST. See DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Transmission Control (TCM) - Standard Procedure .
No
- Replace the Clutch Shift Multiplex Solenoid 2 in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the MPS6 VERIFICATION TEST. See DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Transmission Control (TCM) - Standard Procedure .
