Theory Of Operation

The Transmission Control Module (TCM) monitors the operation of all pressure solenoids, clutches and pressure switches. If a fault is detected and depending on which gear the transmission is in when detected, the TCM will enable one or more calibrated shift and pressure strategies to avoid damage to the transmission.
