Diagnostic Test
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, record and erase any Electronic Overhead Module DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off, wait 30 seconds then turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Is the DTC active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The condition that caused this code to set is not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition. Operate the system several times and recheck for active DTCs. Refer to:
- SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS for 300.
- SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS for Charger.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Totally Integrated Power (TIPM) - Standard Procedure .
- CHECK COMMUNICATION TO THE TIPM
- With the scan tool, check to see if the TIPM is active on the bus.
Is the scan tool able to communicate with the TIPM?
Yes
- Replace the Electronic Overhead Module in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Totally Integrated Power (TIPM) - Standard Procedure .
No
- Refer to the symptom list for problems related to Communication. Refer to Non-DTC Diagnostics/Communication - Diagnosis and Testing .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Totally Integrated Power (TIPM) - Standard Procedure .
- With the scan tool, check to see if the TIPM is active on the bus.
