Engine & Automatic Transmission Cooling System: Engine: Radiator: Removal

1 - ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR
2 - UPPER RADIATOR HOSE
  1. Disconnect negative cable from auxiliary jumper terminal.
  2. Remove engine cover.
  3. Remove air filter assembly. Refer to REMOVAL . Refer to REMOVAL . Refer to REMOVAL .
  4. Recover A/C system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
    WARNING: Do not remove pressure cap or any hose with the system hot and under pressure because serious burns from coolant can occur.
  5. Drain cooling system. See STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  6. Remove under engine splash shield.
  7. Remove front bottom splash shield.
  8. Remove upper radiator hose at radiator.
  9. Remove lower radiator hose at radiator.
  10. Disconnect radiator fan electrical connector.

  11. Disconnect A/C line at condenser/cooler
  12. Remove screw that holds support bracket for transmission cooler tubes at left side of radiator (if equipped) (2).
  13. Remove upper radiator supports.
    CAUTION: Plastic tanks, while stronger than brass are subject to damage by impact, such as wrenches.
  14. Remove radiator/condenser assembly.
  15. Separate A/C condenser from radiator.
  16. Separate radiator cooling fans from radiator.
