Diagnostic Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Dodge Avenger and 2010 Chrysler Sebring. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Connect the scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC).
  2. Reconnect any disconnected components.
  3. With the scan tool, erase all Transmission and Engine Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
    NOTE: Erase DTC P0700 under engine to turn off the MIL light after completion of transmission repairs.
  4. If the Transmission has been repaired (Valve body/Controller replacement or if the Clutch assembly has been replaced), it is necessary to perform a Quick Learn (Teach-in) procedure with the scan tool.
  5. If the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), Front Control Module (FCM) or Totally Integrated Control Module (TIPM) has been replaced you must reset the Pinion Factor in the Front Control Module.
  6. With the scan tool, display Transmission Temperature. Start and run the engine until the Transmission Temperature is HOT, above 43° C (110° F).
  7. Check the transmission fluid and adjust if necessary. Refer to the Service Information for the Fluid Fill procedure.
  8. For a specific DTC, drive the vehicle to the symptoms When Monitored/Set condition(s) to verify the DTC is repaired.
  9. Check for any DTCs during and after the road test.

    Did any DTCs set during the road test?

    Yes 

    No 

    • Repair is complete.
