Theory Of Operation

The Transmission Control Module (TCM) communicates over the CAN C BUS and continuously monitors BUS activity. The TCM requires data from several control modules for information needed for normal functionality. If this DTC sets, the TCM can still communicate with other modules besides the module identified in the DTC.
