Fuel System Pressure Release Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. With vehicle on a hoist, disconnect the fuel pump module harness connector.
  3. Lower the vehicle.
  4. Start and run engine until it stalls.
  5. Attempt to restart the engine until it will no longer run.
  6. Turn the ignition key to OFF position.
  7. One or more Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's) may have been stored in PCM memory due to fuel pump module being removed. When the repair is complete use the scan tool to erase the DTC(s).
