Diagnostic Test
- 1) DETERMINE ACTIVE OR STORED DTC NOTE: Ensure that the battery is fully charged.
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, read ORC DTC.
Does the scan tool display active DTC: B10B5-TRIGGER CIRCUIT 13 - NOT CONFIGURED - PIN 51/52 [ZH]?
Yes
- Go to step 2).
No
- No problem found at this time. Erase all codes before returning the vehicle to the customer.
- 2) INSPECT ORC PINS IN QUESTION WARNING: To avoid serious or fatal injury, turn the ignition off, disconnect the battery and wait two minutes before proceeding.
Inspect the ORC harness connector pins 51 and 52 for valid circuit wiring and components.
Is there wiring and component connected to terminal 51 and 52?
Yes
- Go to step 3).
No
- Replace the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) in accordance with the service information.
- Perform *AIRBAG VERIFICATION TEST . .
WARNING: If the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) is dropped at any time, it must be replaced. Failure to take proper precautions could result in accidental airbag deployment and serious or fatal injury. - 3) VERIFY OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER (ORC) PART NUMBER (CODING) NOTE: This ORC is pre-programmed (CODED) for this vehicle and cannot be re-configured.
Verify the ORC part number is correct for this vehicle.
Repair
- Replace the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) in accordance with the service information.
- Perform *AIRBAG VERIFICATION TEST . .
