Section 82 (Suspension System): Front: Knuckle: Installation: Knuckle

- Install the steering knuckle on the lower ball joint stud.
- Install the lower ball joint nut. Tighten to 170 N.m (125 ft. lbs.)
- Install the lower strut (1) and bolts (2) to the steering knuckle. Tighten the bolts (2) to 140 N.m (103 ft. lbs.) Plus an additional 120° turn.
- Install the rotor (3) to the hub/bearing.
- Install the rotor set screw (1). Tighten to 22 N.m (16 in. lbs.). Refer to INSTALLATION .
- Install the wheel speed sensor (1) and nut (2) to the knuckle (3).
- Install the disc brake caliper adapter with the brake caliper assembly (4) and tighten the bolts (1) to 80 N.m (59 ft. lbs.) Plus an additional 40° turn. Refer to INSTALLATION .
- Install the outer tie rod end (3) and shield (5) to the steering knuckle (6) and tighten the nut (4) to 50 N.m (37 ft. lbs.) Plus an additional 60° turn.
- Install the front wheels. Refer to INSTALLATION .
- Lower the vehicle.
- Check and set toe if necessary. See STANDARD PROCEDURE .
