Module-Engine Control Diesel: Removal: ECM

NOTE: If a replacement (new) ECM is installed, a scan tool must be used to program (flash) the new ECM with vehicle specific information.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the ECM harness connectors.
  3. Grasp ECM and pull up firmly to release ECM from the retaining bracket.
