Two front wiper relays are standard equipment on this vehicle: a wiper on/off relay (3) (also known as the front windshield wiper relay) and a wiper high/low relay (4) (also known as the stage 1 + 2 front windshield wiper relay). The wiper relays are located in dedicated receptacles of the fuse and relay block (1) (also known as the SRB) beneath the driver side end of the instrument panel in the passenger compartment.

The wiper relays are conventional International Standards Organization (ISO) relays. Relays conforming to the ISO specifications have common physical dimensions, current capacities, terminal patterns and terminal functions. The relays are each contained within a small, rectangular, molded plastic housing and are connected to all of the required inputs and outputs through five integral male spade-type terminals that extend from the relay base plate.

The front wiper relays cannot be adjusted or repaired and, if ineffective or damaged, these units must be replaced.
