Front Wiper Module

WARNING: To avoid serious or fatal injury during and following any front wiper system service, be certain that the key is removed from the ignition lock. When the multi-function switch is set to the I (INTERMITTENT or AUTOMATIC) position, the front wipers could move unexpectedly at any time causing injury or damage.

  1. Carefully position the front wiper module into the back of the engine compartment as a unit.
  2. Reconnect the vehicle wire harness connector to the bottom of the wiper motor (6).
  3. Position the front wiper module to the underside of the cowl top panel with both wiper pivot housings inserted through the clearance holes in the panel.
  4. Install a rubber pad (3), a washer (2) and a nut (1) to secure each pivot housing to the outside of the cowl top panel. Tighten the nuts to 12 N.m (9 ft. lbs.).
  5. Install and tighten the screw (4) that secures the wiper motor isolator bracket (5) to the cowl top panel bracket. Tighten the screw securely.
  6. Reinstall the engine air filter housing into the engine compartment and close the hood.
  7. Reinstall both front wiper arms onto the wiper pivots. See INSTALLATION .
  8. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
