Active Restraints
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Dodge Sprinter. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The active restraints for this vehicle include:
- Child Restraint Anchors - All vehicles equipped with rear seating are equipped with fixed-position, child seat upper tether anchors for the rear seating. An anchor is integral to the back of the seat leg behind each rear seating position. Lower anchors are also provided for each outboard seating position on three passenger rear bench seats and for the left seating position on two passenger rear bench seats. The lower anchors are integral to the rear seat cushion frame and are accessed from the front of the rear seat where the seat back meets the seat cushion.
- Front Seat Belts - Both outboard front seating positions are equipped with three-point seat belt systems employing a lower B-pillar mounted inertia latch-type emergency locking retractors and height-adjustable upper B-pillar mounted turning loops. The driver side seat belt has a travelling lower seat belt anchor secured to the outboard seat cushion frame, and a travelling end-release seat belt buckle secured to the inboard seat cushion frame. The passenger side seat belt anchor and buckle are also secured to the seat cushion frame, but are fixed position units as is the passenger side front seat cushion. The center seating position of the optional two-position front passenger bench seat is also equipped with a three-point seat belt system with an inertia latch-type emergency locking retractor mounted in the front seat back. The driver side front seat belt buckle of all models includes an integral seat belt switch that detects whether the driver side front seat belt has been fastened.
- Rear Seat Belts - All optional rear seating positions are equipped with three-point seat belt systems. Each rear seating position belt employs an integral seat cushion frame mounted inertia latch-type emergency locking retractor, a fixed position upper seat back frame mounted turning loop, and a fixed lower seat belt anchor secured to the seat cushion frame. All rear seat belts have fixed end-release seat belt buckles that are also secured to the seat cushion frame.
