Diagnostic Test

- ERASE AND ATTEMPT TO RESET DTC'S
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, record and erase BCM DTCs.
- Start the engine.
- Operate the rear window defogger.
- With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.
Does the scan tool display 907E-REAR WINDOW HEATER 2 CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH?
Yes
- Go to step 2
No
- The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Inspect the related wiring harness for a possible intermittent condition.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST. See DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Body Control (BCM) - Standard Procedure .
- INSTALL KNOWN GOOD RELAY
- Turn the ignition off.
- Substitute the original Rear Window Defogger 2 Relay with a known good relay.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, erase BCM DTCs.
- Start the engine.
- Operate the rear window defogger.
- With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.
Does the scan tool display 907E-REAR WINDOW HEATER 2 CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH?
Yes
- Go to step 3
No
- Replace the original Rear Window Defogger 2 Relay in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST. See DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Body Control (BCM) - Standard Procedure .
- RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Body Control Module C9 connector.
- Turn the ignition On.
- Measure the Voltage of the Heated Rear Window 2 Relay Control circuit at the relay.
Is the Voltage above 1.0 Volt?
Yes
- Repair the Heated Rear Window 2 Relay Control circuit for a short to Voltage.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST. See DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Body Control (BCM) - Standard Procedure .
No
- Replace the Body Control Module (BCM) in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST. See DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Body Control (BCM) - Standard Procedure .
