Diagnostic Test

ERASE AND ATTEMPT TO RESET DTC
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, record and erase BCM DTCs.
3. Start the engine.
4. Operate the rear defogger switch several times.
5. With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.
  Does the scan tool display 907C-REAR WINDOW HEATER 1 CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH?
  
  Yes
  - Go to step 2
  No
  - The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Inspect the related wiring harness for a possible intermittent condition.
  - Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST. See DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Body Control (BCM) - Standard Procedure .
INSTALL KNOWN GOOD RELAY
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Install a known good relay in place of the Heated Rear Window Defogger 1 Relay.
3. Turn the ignition on.
4. With the scan tool, erase BCM DTCs.
5. Start the engine.
6. Operate the rear defogger switch.
7. With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.
  Does the scan tool display 907C-REAR WINDOW HEATER 1 CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH?
  
  Yes
  - Go to step 3
  No
  - Replace the original Heated Rear Window Defogger 1 Relay in accordance with the Service Information.
  - Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST. See DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Body Control (BCM) - Standard Procedure .
OPEN GROUND CIRCUIT
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Heated Rear Window Defogger 1 Relay.
3. Measure the resistance of the Ground circuit at the Rear Window Defogger 1 Relay connector.
  Is the resistance above 3.0 ohms?
  
  Yes
  - Repair the open relay Ground circuit.
  - Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST. See DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Body Control (BCM) - Standard Procedure .
  No
  - Go to step 4
HEATED REAR WINDOW RELAY 1 CONTROL CIRCUIT SHORT TO VOLTAGE
1. Disconnect the Body Control Module C9 connector.
2. Turn the ignition On.
3. Measure the Voltage of the Heated Rear Window Relay 1 Control circuit at the relay connector to ground.
  Is the Voltage above 1.0 Volt?
  
  Yes
  - Repair the Heated Rear Window Relay 1 Control circuit for a short to Voltage.
  - Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST. See DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Body Control (BCM) - Standard Procedure .
  No
  - Go to step 5
HEATED REAR WINDOW RELAY 1 CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Measure the resistance of the Heated Rear Window Relay 1 Control circuit between the BCM connector and the relay connector.
  Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
  
  Yes
  - Replace the Body Control Module (BCM) in accordance with the Service Information.
  - Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST. See DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Body Control (BCM) - Standard Procedure .
  No
  - Repair the Heated Rear Window Relay 1 Control circuit for an open.
  - Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST. See DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Body Control (BCM) - Standard Procedure .
