Diagnostic Test

  1. ERASE AND ATTEMPT TO RESET DTC'S 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. With the scan tool, record and erase BCM DTCs.
    3. Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds then turn the ignition on.
    4. Attempt to operate the horn.
    5. With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display 9075-HORN CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH?

      Yes 

      • Go to step  2

      No 

  2. INSTALL KNOWN GOOD RELAY 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Remove the Horn Relay from the Fuse and Relay Block.
    3. Substitute the original Horn Relay with a known good relay.
    4. Turn the ignition on.
    5. With the scan tool, erase BCM DTCs.
    6. Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
    7. operate the horn switch.
    8. With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display 9075-HORN CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH?

      Yes 

      • Go to step  3

      No 

  3. HORN RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the BCM from the Fuse and Relay Block.
    3. Remove the Horn Relay from the Fuse and Relay Block.
    4. Turn the ignition On.
    5. Measure the Voltage of the Horn Relay Control circuit at the relay.

      Is the Voltage above 1.0 Volt?

      Yes 

      No
