Diagnostic Test

- 1) TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
Check the fault freeze frame data for more information.
With the scan tool, record and erase DTC's
Start the engine.
Turn the engine off, leaving the ignition in the on position.
With the scan tool, read DTC's.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go To 2).
No
- The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1 .
- 2) CHECK ENGINE START/STOP SIGNAL SETTINGS
With the scan tool, Check Engine start/stop signal settings.
Are the signal settings valid and the parameters set?
Yes
- Replace the Programmable Special Module (PSM) in accordance with the service information.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1 .
No
- Go To 3).
- 3) PROGRAMMABLE SPECIAL MODULE
Using the scan tool, perform Programmable Special Module (PSM) Reset ECU and Load Coding for vehicle application.
Cycle the ignition on and off three times.
Start the engine.
Turn the engine off, leaving the ignition in the on position.
With the scan tool, read DTC's.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Replace the Programmable Special Module (PSM) in accordance with the service information.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1 .
No
- Test Complete.
