Throttle Position Sensor: Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Dodge Viper. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The TPS is mounted on the passenger side of the throttle body. The sensor connects to the throttle blade shaft. See Fig 1. The TPS is a variable resistor that provides the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with an input signal (voltage).
