Fuel Injector: Removal: 3.5L

  1. Release fuel pressure, refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE - FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE PROCEDURE  .
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the upper intake manifold, (Refer to ENGINE/MANIFOLDS/INTAKE MANIFOLD - REMOVAL) - 3.5L, (Refer to ENGINE/MANIFOLDS/INTAKE MANIFOLD/UPPER - REMOVAL) - 3.8L .

  4. If the injector connectors are not tagged with their cylinder number, tag them to identify the correct cylinder.
  5. Disconnect the fuel supply line from the fuel rail. See Fig 1.

  6. Remove the 4 mounting bolts from the fuel rail. See Fig 2.
  7. Lift fuel rail straight up off of cylinder head.
  8. Remove retaining clips from fuel injectors at fuel rail.
  9. Remove fuel injector from fuel rail.
