WARNING:
Do not open the radiator draincock with the system hot and under pressure because serious burns from coolant can occur.
NOTE:
The fan motor, fan, and the shroud are serviced as an assembly.
- Disconnect negative cable from battery.
- Remove battery and battery tray, (Refer to ELECTRICAL/BATTERY SYSTEM/BATTERY - REMOVAL) .
- Drain cooling system below upper radiator hose level, (Refer to COOLING/ENGINE/COOLANT - STANDARD PROCEDURE) .
- Remove grill, (Refer to BODY/EXTERIOR/GRILLE - REMOVAL) .
- Remove upper radiator closure panel (1) and center brace (2). See Fig 1. (Refer to BODY/EXTERIOR/RADIATOR CLOSURE PANEL - REMOVAL)

1 - FASTENERS 2 - RADIATOR INLET NECK - Disconnect upper radiator hose from radiator.
- Turbocharger equipped vehicles: Remove radiator inlet neck (2). See Fig 2.
- Hoist vehicle.
1 - RADIATOR FAN CONNECTOR 2 - RADIATOR DRAINCOCK - Disconnect radiator fan electrical connector (1). See Fig 3.
1 - RADIATOR FAN SHROUD 2 - SCREWS 3 - SCREWS - Remove the two lower and left side radiator fan screws (2, 3). See Fig 4.
- Lower vehicle and remove the remaining radiator fan attaching screws.
1 - RADIATOR FAN FASTENERS 2 - CHARGE AIR COOLER FASTENERS 3 - RADIATOR FAN CONNECTOR 4 - CHARGE AIR COOLER CAUTION: Care should be taken not to damage the radiator cooling fins and tubes during fan removal. - Remove radiator fan by lifting up from the engine compartment.
