Passenger Airbag: Installation

  1. Place airbag (2) into instrument panel opening, connect the wire connector (1), and lock the locking tab.

  2. Install the two nuts retaining passenger airbag to instrument panel assembly inside glove box opening. Tighten the two airbag retaining nuts to 27 N.m (240 in. lbs.).
  3. Install two passenger airbag cover screws along the top edge of the airbag cover.
  4. Install four passenger airbag cover screws along the bottom end of the airbag cover.
  5. Install the right instrument panel end cap.
  6. Push in on the box/bin sides and close glove box door.
  7. Install instrument panel top cover (Refer to BODY/INSTRUMENT PANEL/INSTRUMENT PANEL TOP COVER - INSTALLATION) .
WARNING: Do not connect the battery negative cable (Refer to ELECTRICAL/RESTRAINTS - DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING - AIRBAG SYSTEM)  . Personal injury or death may result if the system test is not performed first.
