Sensor-Rear Wheel Speed: Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. (Refer to LUBRICATION & MAINTENANCE/HOISTING - STANDARD PROCEDURE) .

  2. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor cable (5) connector at the body wiring harness (1). The connector has a locking tab which must be pulled back before the connector release tab can be depressed, releasing the connection.
  3. Remove the wheel speed sensor cable connector from the body (4) mounted clip (2).
  4. Remove the speed sensor cable routing clips (3) from the brake tube (6).

  5. Remove the wheel speed sensor routing clips (2) from the axle (1) and trailing arm (3).

  6. Remove the wheel speed sensor cable (2) from the retainer on the brake hose bracket (5).
  7. Remove the wheel speed sensor cable from the routing clips (4) running along the brake hose.
  8. Remove the screw (3) securing the antilock brake wheel speed sensor (2) head to the disc brake adapter (1) or drum brake support plate. Remove the sensor head from the adapter/support plate and remove sensor from vehicle.
