.
- Raise and support the vehicle. (Refer to LUBRICATION & MAINTENANCE/HOISTING - STANDARD PROCEDURE) .
- Right side sensor - Disconnect the wheel speed sensor cable connector (1) from the wiring harness on the inside of the frame rail above the front suspension crossmember. The connector has a locking tab which must be pulled back before the connector release tab can be depressed, releasing the connection.
- Left side sensor - Disconnect the wheel speed sensor cable connector (5) from the wiring harness on the inside of the frame rail above the front suspension crossmember. The connector has a locking tab which must be pulled back before the connector release tab can be depressed, releasing the connection.
- Left side sensor - Remove the speed sensor cable routing clips (4) from the brake tube (2) on the inside of and under the frame rail (3).
- Remove the wheel speed sensor cable (3) from the retainer on the brake hose bracket (2) mounted to the frame rail (6).
- Remove the screw (3) fastening the wheel speed sensor (1) head to the knuckle (4). CAUTION: When removing a wheel speed sensor from the knuckle, do not use pliers on the sensor head. This may damage the sensor head. If the sensor has seized, use a hammer and a punch to tap the edge of the sensor head ear, rocking the sensor side-to-side until free.
- Carefully pull the sensor head with heat shield (2) out of the knuckle. Separate the shield from the sensor head.
- Remove the screw (5) securing the wheel speed sensor routing bracket to the rear of the strut (6). Remove the wheel speed sensor (1) from the vehicle.
