Installation - 2.2 Diesel

NOTE: The orientation of the generator, it will fit onto the bracket backwards. If this occurs damage to the generator will happen. See Fig 1.

Install the 2 upper bolts and the 2 lower bolts into the generator.
Install generator as assembly. See Fig 1MAKE SURE OF ORIENTATION OF GENERATOR .
Install the accessory drive idler pulley and bracket to the 2 lower mounting bolts for the generator. See Figure.
Tighten generator mounting bolts to 28 N.m (38 ft. lbs.)
Connect the wiring connectors to the back of the generator. See Figure.
Connect the battery cable to the generator.
Install the A/C line to the compressor.
Install the radiator, condenser, and inner cooler assembly
Connect the electrical connector to the radiator fan.
Install the upper radiator hose.
Connect the A/C line to the condenser.
Raise vehicle and support.
Install the accessory drive belt, refer to COOLING for more information.
Install the splash shield.
Install the right front tire.
Install the lower radiator hose and the 2 inner cooler hoses.
Install the underbody plate (skid plate), refer to INTERIOR/EXTERIOR for more information.
Lower vehicle.
Install ambient temperature sensor.
Install the upper radiator crossmember.
Install the hood seal, refer to INTERIOR/EXTERIOR for more information.
Install the front grill, refer to INTERIOR/EXTERIOR for more information.
Connect the negative battery cable.
Fill radiator, refer to COOLING for more information.
Install A/C refrigerant. Refer to HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING for more information.
