Installation - 1.6L
- Install the 2 lower and 1 upper mounting bolts into the generator. See Fig 1.

- Install the generator to the vehicle. See Figure.
- Hand start the bolts.
- Install the upper inboard mounting bolts and hand start the bolt.
- Raise vehicle and support.
- Tighten the outboard generator mounting bolt. Torque to 28 N.m (250 in. lbs.).
- Install the accessory drive belt, refer to COOLING
for more information.
- Install the right splash shield.
- Lower vehicle.
- Tighten the lower inboard generator mounting bolt. Torque to 28 N.m (250 in. lbs.).
- Tighten the upper 2 mounting bolts. Torque to 28 N.m (250 in. lbs.).
- Install the power steering reservoir to the support bracket. See Figure.
- Connect the electrical connectors to the generator. See Figure.
- Install the lower intake manifold, refer to 1.6L SOHC
for more information.
- Install the fuel rail.
- Install the 2 bolts to the fuel rail at the lower manifold.
- Install the fuel line to the fuel rail.
- Install the wiring harness to the fuel rail brackets.
- Connect the electrical connectors to the fuel injectors.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Install air cleaner assembly cover.
